Presents the 2020 Portland Regatta

at the Portland Yacht Club – 8th February to 9th February 2020

 

NOTICE OF RACE

 

  1. Rules

The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in the current Racing Rules of Sailing, the sailing instructions, and by the class rules of those yachts competing.

  1. Eligibility and Entry

The regatta is open to all off the beach boats, trailable yachts and keelboats

All crew members shall hold a current Australian Sailing number.

Eligible yachts may enter at the registration desk on the first day of the regatta.

Keelboats must meet Cat 5 Safety

  1. Fees

Seniors $60 whole Regatta

Juniors $25 whole Regatta

Catering & Bar will be available Saturday night

  1. Schedule of Events

Registration: 1000 – 1200hrs Saturday 8th February

Race Warning Signal

Briefing: 1200hrs - Saturday 8th February

1 1300hrs - 8th February

2 & 3 Back-to-back with race 1

Briefing: 0900hrs – Sunday 9th February

4 1000hrs - 9th February

5 Back-to-back with race 4

Presentation A.S.A.P after last race

No race will be started after 1300hrs on 9th February 2020.

Keel Boats to sail TWO races. (Races 1 and 4)

  1. Sailing Instructions

Sailing instructions will be available from the registration desk at the prescribed registration time.

  1. Venue

Racing will be conducted in the confines of Portland Bay

  1. Courses

Courses will vary to suit the prevailing conditions and shipping movements of the Port Of Portland and will be displayed on the Official Notice Board.

  1. Radio Communication

Except in an emergency, a boat shall neither make radio transmissions while racing, nor receive radio communications not available to all boats. This restriction also applies to mobile telephones

  1. Prizes

Handicap prizes will be awarded at the discretion of the Portland Yacht Club

  1. Disclaimer Of Liability

Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.

  1. Insurance

Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party insurance with a minimum cover of $10 million per incident or the equivalent
